Q&A: The Harmonix – Liverpool's New Melodic Britpop Rock Band Ready to Make Their Live Debut

After months of dedication in the rehearsal room, Liverpool's newest melodic Britpop rock outfit, The Harmonix, are preparing to step onto the stage for their very first live performance.

The five-piece band will make their debut at Cluny 2, Newcastle, where they'll be supporting felAfterlow Lucidia Recordsartists Deltamanic.

Made up of Ash Greaves (lead vocals), Ged Greaves (rhythm guitar and backing vocals), Ian Connor (bass), Ian Cartwright (lead guitar) and Matt Hughes (drums), The Harmonix have spent the last few months honing their sound, writing original material and building the chemistry that only comes from countless hours of rehearsal.

With soaring harmonies, memorable guitar hooks and anthemic choruses inspired by the golden era of British guitar music, The Harmonix are ready to introduce audiences to their distinctive melodic Britpop rock sound.

Ahead of their debut show, we caught up with the band to talk about their journey so far, their influences, and what fans can expect when the lights go down at Cluny 2.

Lucidia Records: Firstly, congratulations on getting ready for your debut gig. For anyone who hasn't heard of The Harmonix yet, tell us a little about yourselves.

The Harmonix: Thanks! We're a five-piece melodic Britpop rock band from Liverpool made up of Ash Greaves (lead vocals), Ged Greaves (rhythm guitar and backing vocals), Ian Connor (bass), Ian Cartwright (lead guitar) and Matt Hughes (drums).

We've spent the last few months writing, rehearsing and developing our own sound, and now we're finally ready to take it out on the road.

Lucidia Records: How did the band come together?

The Harmonix: Like most great bands, it all started through a shared love of music. We'd all played in different situations over the years, but once we got into a rehearsal room together, there was an instant chemistry.

Since then, it's been about putting in the hard work, refining the songs and making sure we're the best band we can be before stepping onto a stage.

Lucidia Records: How would you describe your music?

The Harmonix: We'd describe our sound as melodic Britpop rock. Big, anthemic choruses, memorable guitar hooks, soaring harmonies and songs that tell real stories are at the heart of everything we write.

We're inspired by the golden era of British guitar music while bringing our own modern energy and identity to every track. We want people to connect with the music, sing along, and leave our gigs with the songs still playing in their heads.

Lucidia Records: Your first-ever gig is at Cluny 2 in Newcastle, supporting Deltamanic. That's quite a way to make your debut!

The Harmonix: It really is! There's definitely a few nerves, but mostly excitement.

Deltamanic are absolutely smashing it right now, so to be asked to support them for our first-ever live show is a massive opportunity. Cluny 2 has a fantastic reputation for live music, and we're looking forward to getting in front of a brand-new audience.

We can't think of a better way to kick off our journey as a band.

Lucidia Records: Have the rehearsals been as intense as people imagine?

The Harmonix: Definitely! We've spent months making sure every song is performance-ready.

It's not just about learning the music — it's about becoming a tight live band and making sure everyone knows exactly what each other is doing. Those hours in the rehearsal room will hopefully pay off when we hit the stage.

Lucidia Records: What can people expect when they come to see The Harmonix live?

The Harmonix: Energy, passion and songs we genuinely believe in.

We want people to enjoy themselves, sing along and leave feeling like they've discovered a band they'll want to see again. If people walk away talking about us afterwards, we'll have done our job.

Lucidia Records: What's next once the debut show is over?

The Harmonix: This is only the beginning.

After our debut at Cluny 2, we'll be heading into the recording studio to record our debut single, which we're really excited about. We've also got more live dates on the horizon, so we'll be taking our melodic Britpop rock sound to as many audiences as possible.

Our aim is simple — to keep writing great songs, keep growing as a band and build something we're all proud of. This is just the start of the journey.
