Some bands are formed through chance meetings, while others are built on a lifetime of music.
For The Harmonix, their story begins long before the band itself, rooted in a family where music was simply part of everyday life.
At the heart of the band are brothers Ash Greaves, lead vocalist, and Ged Greaves, who provides backing vocals and guitar. Growing up in a musical household, the brothers were introduced to singing from an early age by their father, a professional singer whose passion for music shaped the family's upbringing.
From the age of seven, Ash and Ged were taught to sing five-part harmonies alongside their three other brothers. Learning harmony at such a young age helped develop the vocal blend and musical awareness that remains a defining feature of their performances today.
Their father also enjoyed a successful career as a professional vocalist and appeared on the television series Stars in Their Eyes, performing as Engelbert Humperdinck. His experience and dedication to music created an environment where performing, rehearsing and singing together became second nature for the family.
That musical upbringing is evident whenever Ash and Ged perform. Years of singing together have created a natural vocal connection that can only come from growing up making music side by side. Their harmonies are the result of decades of shared experience rather than something learned later in life.
Behind the drum kit is Matt Hughes, whose own musical journey also began in childhood.
Matt has been playing drums since the age of three and comes from a family of drummers, with both his father and grandfather having played the instrument. That family tradition has given him a lifetime of experience and a solid rhythmic foundation that underpins the band's live performances.

Both musicians bring extensive experience gained through years of performing in bands and playing live, adding depth and musicianship to The Harmonix's sound.
Together, these five musicians combine experience, strong family influences and a shared passion for live performance.
While each member has followed their own musical path, they bring those experiences together to create a band built on solid musicianship, close vocal harmonies and years of performing.
The Harmonix are a reminder that great bands are often built on strong foundations. In this case, those foundations were laid in family homes, rehearsal rooms and on stages many years before the band first came together.
