Jimmy Coburn Announces New Album Little Fiasco & His New The Beatles & Lennon Experience

After three years of writing, recording and refining, Jimmy Coburn’s new album, Little Fiasco, will finally be released on vinyl and CD on Friday, 28 August 2026. Ahead of its release, Lucidia Records caught up with Jimmy to talk about the album, its creation and how it feels to finally share it with the world.
Lucidia Records: Little Fiasco has taken three years to complete. How does it feel to finally have the finished album in your hands?
Jimmy Coburn: It’s a mixture of relief, pride and excitement. When you spend three years working on something, it becomes a huge part of your life. There were times when it felt like it might never be completely finished, so finally reaching this point is a brilliant feeling. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve created.
Lucidia Records: Why did the album take three years to complete?
Jimmy: I didn’t want to rush it. The songs needed time to develop, and I wanted every part of the album to feel right. Sometimes you have to step away from a song, live with it and then come back with fresh ears. Life also has a habit of getting in the way, but that became part of the album’s journey. Everything happened when it was supposed to happen.
Lucidia Records: Where did the title Little Fiasco come from?
Jimmy: It seemed to capture the personality of the album perfectly. Life rarely follows a tidy plan—it can be unpredictable, messy, funny and frustrating, sometimes all at once. Little Fiasco felt like the right title for a collection of songs created during such an eventful three years.
Lucidia Records: What can listeners expect from the album?
Jimmy: They can expect original songs with strong melodies, honest lyrics and plenty of character. There are different moods across the album, but they all belong together. I’ve always believed that a song should make you feel something, whether it lifts you, makes you think or takes you back to a particular moment.
Lucidia Records: How personal are the songs?
Jimmy: There’s a piece of me in every one of them. Some come from personal experiences, while others begin with an observation, a feeling or something I’ve seen happening around me. Even when a song isn’t completely autobiographical, there still has to be something real at its heart.
Lucidia Records: Has the album changed much since you first began working on it?
Jimmy: Definitely. Some songs stayed close to the original idea, while others changed completely. That’s one of the advantages of allowing an album time to grow. You start hearing new possibilities, and sometimes a small change can transform the whole track. The final album is much stronger because we allowed that process to happen naturally.
Lucidia Records: You’ve performed at the Cavern Club, appeared on Broadway in New York and taken part in major arena tours celebrating John Lennon’s music. Did those experiences influence the album?
Jimmy: Every performance teaches you something. Playing in such different settings has shown me that the most important thing is always the connection between the song and the listener. You can have a huge production around you, but the song still has to stand on its own. That’s something I carried into Little Fiasco.
Lucidia Records: The album is being released on vinyl and CD before its online release. Why was having a physical edition important to you?
Jimmy: There’s still something special about owning an album. Holding the sleeve, looking at the artwork and listening from beginning to end makes it feel like a complete experience. Vinyl especially encourages people to slow down and spend time with the music. After working on the album for three years, I wanted it to exist as something people could actually hold.
Lucidia Records: How would you like people to listen to Little Fiasco for the first time?
Jimmy: Ideally, from beginning to end with no distractions. The songs were chosen and arranged to work together as an album, rather than simply being a random collection of tracks. Put the record on, turn it up and give it your full attention.
Lucidia Records: What does releasing this album mean to you personally?
Jimmy: It represents three years of ideas, work, setbacks, breakthroughs and persistence. Finishing any album is an achievement, but this one feels particularly important because of everything that went into it. It marks the end of one journey and, hopefully, the beginning of another.
Lucidia Records: Finally, what would you like to say to everyone waiting to hear it?
Jimmy: Thank you for your patience and support. Three years is a long time, but I genuinely believe the finished album was worth taking that time over. I can’t wait for people to hear it and make these songs part of their own lives.
Little Fiasco will be released on vinyl and CD on Friday, 28 August 2026, with its online release following in early December.
Lucidia Records: Tell us about your show, The Beatles & Lennon Experience. John Lennon’s sister, Julia Baird, has said that you are by far the best tribute act of her brother—and you even bear an incredible resemblance to him. You’ve also had the honour of meeting Sir Paul McCartney. What have those experiences meant to you?
Jimmy: They’ve meant an incredible amount. Receiving such wonderful praise from Julia was a huge honour because she knew John better than almost anyone. Meeting Sir Paul McCartney was another unforgettable moment and something I’ll always treasure. I have enormous respect for John, Paul and the music of The Beatles, so I take the responsibility of portraying that story very seriously. People often mention the physical resemblance, but for me, it’s about capturing the music, personality and spirit as authentically and respectfully as possible.
